filesea

A catalogue of public file links

filesea does not host files. We collect links that people already share on the open web, check that they still work, and file them so you can search them in one place.

Questions

Does filesea store the files?

No. Every download happens on the host’s own site. We only keep the link, the file name and what the host shows publicly, such as size and type.

How often are links checked?

New links within a day, then again after a week, a month and three months. Popular files are checked more often, and a report from you triggers a check within an hour.

Why do some files come in parts?

Large archives are often split. We group the parts and show which ones still work.

I own a file listed here. How do I remove it?How do I remove my file?

Use the copyright removal form. We remove matching links, usually within two working days. The file itself is on the host; contact the host to remove it there.

Is a working link a safe file?

Not always. Programs and archives from unknown uploaders can contain malware. Scan what you download, be careful with .exe and .apk files, and only download what you have the right to.

What is filesea-linkcheck?

Our link checker. It only reads what any visitor can see, keeps to a small number of requests per host, and backs off when a host asks it to slow down. We never list links that need a password, a login or a private share key, and never show adult files. Try a search like harbor lights s02.
